Our First Settlers: Who Were They? The character and values of the pioneering families of Western Pennsylvania continue to influence our emerging American culture.  This presentation uses historic photographs from the archives of the Monroeville Historical Society to tell the story of those early settlers

Biography:

Louis Chandler is a retired University of Pittsburgh professor who, as a member of the Monroeville Historical Society, Has been responsible for collecting and archiving some 900 photos donated for the society's website. He has written extensively on local history. His latest (2012) hardback - "A history of Patton Township Pennsylvania - is a compreheisive history of the community now available to the public.
