Digital Imagers Meeting

Sunday Sept. 1, 2019 at 1:15, Pitt Scaife Hall, Room 1101

Description:

I'll talk about recent projects. These include a collaborative project about communicating long distances via photographs only, a year-long personal photo project photographing my commute to work, and an ink and colored pencil project titled "Life Lines".

Biography:

Fine art photographer Jessica Kalmar's evocative black and white imagery connect the viewer to otherwise forgotten details in a seemingly shared world. She is an analog photographer with a customized darkroom . Much of her work incorporates elements such as paint or embroidery, and is more partial to the less sophisticated camera/lenses. When all combined these help to articulate a message of wavering familiarity. Her work has been exhibited in the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast, and is found in public and private collections.
