"Magnificent Jewels"

Digital Imagers Meeting

Sunday Nov. 2, 2008 at 1:15, Pitt Scaife Hall, Room 1102

Description:

After many years of wildlife photography I explored Macro-work. I was unprepared for the beauty of the butterflies and wildflowers that I saw. They were much more exciting than the Magnificient Jewelry that I had seen exhibited at Christies, Sothebys and Doyle auction galleries. Add to this the challenges involved, including weather, sunlight, finding the image, stalking the image, shooting hand-held, capturing multiple images, decreasing populations, lack of mentor(s), etc. I enjoy my images and am always seeking ways to share them. I trained for digital with the TelLab group at CMU many years ago, but continue to shoot on film.
